I think it was 'ALT-CNTRL-...' or 'SHIFT-ALT-...' or something that's
difficult to type (No I have a PC like keyboard: there I have to use
'ALT_GR-('. It's not very good.)
Why (only) the brackets from the num pad? Are there any reasons against the
normal brackets (num pad or non num pad)-> 'CTRL ('; 'CTRL )'

I don't want to exclude anyone from a new standard. If you divide into power
users and non power users the market gets smaller and smaller. I wish, all
of them would buy new Ataris, but there will be some people that will buy
an PC, if being forced to buy a new computer. So keep it very simple (the
biggest advantage of Atari against PC/Windows).
(PS: I have an Falcon with an 420MB HD and 17" monitor)

That could be the best way! Make some global standard shortcuts and allow
making your own ones.
